Gifted Students
Often
gifted children go un-noticed, passing their classes without much
effort. If they have self esteem problems they can appear unmotivated,
if confident .... the world is their oyster! Also it is not unusual to
find these children with some type of learning disability and they can
even be ADHD/ADD.
Maybe
they are dyslexic but have a gift in computers, mathematics, music or art? So,
if you have a child in your class that has an LD and obviously has a
sharp mind ..... look for their talent, their "island of competency".
Some LD's can actually be a gift in the making, so look for the gift
and help with the learning problem making a child feel good about
themselves in the process! Using computers can often help, and an
Australian company is at the forefront. They deserve a mention & a
plug (I did a course with them and the products are brilliant!) .....
